What We Did
We built a system designed to give engineers back control. Essentially this is a tool that quietly watches thousands of data points, day and night, and only speaks up when something’s not right.
It started with data engineering. We connected into the plant’s instrumentation systems, collecting daily readings from each control loop. From there, we modelled what “healthy” performance looked like for every loop, based on years of historical data.
Using those patterns, we trained the system to recognise when behaviour started to drift – a valve taking longer to respond than usual, a sensor reading that didn’t match the trend.
Instead of waiting for a failure, the tool sends a gentle nudge: an automated email highlighting the loop, a quick summary of the deviation, and a link straight to a dashboard where engineers can see the detail.
What once required hours of manual analysis now happens automatically, before anyone has to ask the question. It’s proactive, not reactive. Calm, not chaotic.
Most importantly, it gives engineers time! Time to plan maintenance, order parts, and fix small issues before they become expensive breakdowns.
